Fetal Wars Operations 4-6

Update #4:
Today my Fetal Nemesis (Codename: Gremlin) hatched a sneak attack of EPIC proportions. He attacked my bladder whilst I slept, nearly causing flooding of the queen sized bed. Luckily I held the aqueduct closed until I could reach a receptacle. There was minor leakage along the way. So this afternoon, when Gremlin calmed I crept, ever so slowly to the refrigerator, and CHUGGED 8oz of Almond Milk. Gremlin is currently throwing a hissy of toddler proportions, but my bladder is empty, my stomach is only half full, and I'm enjoying my victory.
Operation Almond Milk: Success!
Update #5:
Today I assumed we'd called a temporary cease fire. After last nights agreement on the joys of Bacon we had no issues coexisting in this form. It seems that around 2pm this afternoon Gremlin decided that he no longer wished to honor this.
I ate Chicken nuggets (baked not fried) as requested. I drank juice of the apple, and nibbled at the Wavy Lays. I assumed we were in agreement as that was what was craved. It seems I was incorrect.
Gremlin is now forcing the food back up in small increments. Nothing yet expelled but I can feel his little feet working at it, and there's a disturbing visual 'tick' as he fights gravity to manipulate the foodstuffs ingested.
This host is in a state of 'bleh'.
Well played Gremlin. This battle I concede to you.
Update #6:
Today was Operation Whatever the Fuck He Wants
I woke up, ate a Strawberry Toaster Strudel (2 actually) had the last of the orange juice (No Pulp) scrambled a Chickens Mensus that I choked down by pretending I was a Zombie eating brains, and had some dry Corn Flakes. Gremlin was happy. Movement was non damanging and almost friendly. Then came lunch, a ham sandwich with *gag* cow cheese, mustard and a dill pickle. Gremlin again was happy, movement retained friendliness. Then as a snack I saw and immediately purchased and consumed Beef Jerky (Teriyaki flavored-yuck) and....Chocolate Cows Milk (bleh, cow, bleh bleh) and again movement friendly. Nothing consumed today was forced out of the stomach.
Gremlin is currently making gentle forays into stretching out in his caul sack and entertaining the 2 legged cat (who keeps his freaking claws in unlike the dwarf cat who was dutch ovened for bad behavior this morning), and giving the bladder a much needed break from continuous abuse.
Today had to have been the most disgusting for me when it came to food. The Gremlins preferred diet and my own are NOT a cohesive set. Tomorrow I start anew. Perhaps even catching him by surprise. This Host will prevail.

Diapers Yay!

Today I got most of the diapers I ordered.
Both orders from Cottonbabies came with the Econobum diapers in them. The pre-fold is super soft and the diaper covers themselves are soft and light weight.

The SAHM sewn pocket diaper also arrived. The insert for it is terry cloth, soft, and the fleece lined inner shell feels like air. Make note that the inserts for pocket diapers don't touch the skin unless you're using the diaper itself as just a diaper cover and the insert like a pre-fold.

Pregnancy Week #22

With my 22nd week of gestation creeping up on me (Saturday 12/3) I've decided to cloth diaper. So far I've researched into it's merits, and there are more pro's than cons.

Money Saving being the biggest Pro. The average family spends $3000 in diapers in a 3 year period. Cloth diapering costs around a tenth of that. It's more payout up front, but a long time gain.

So far I'm $45 into my cloth diapering purchases, making my own Soaker pads for the insides of the diapers, and I'm going to see which type I prefer, for ease of use.

These are the cloth diaper types:

Prefolds/Flat- Flat cloth diapers are the classic cotton square which is folded to fit baby, and secured with diaper pins or a Snappi. A variation of the flat diaper is the Prefold, which includes extra layering in the center.

AIOs and AI2s- An AIO, or All-In-One, is exactly what it sounds like. What you get is what you need. It is a type of diaper that functions completely on its own without the need for extra accessories. It does not require separate soaker material to absorb nor a separate diaper cover to contain leaks. All of the features are neatly packaged into one diaper. Many parents find this type of diaper to be the height of convenience since all they need is in one place. It also saves on space when traveling.

Pockets- Does not requires a wrap or a cover - this feature is built in. Requires and absorbent stuffer material to be placed in the pocket before use.

Fitteds- Fitted cloth diapers are the next step up in the evolution of the cloth diaper, after the simple flat diapers or prefold diapers that were the norm many years ago. Fitted diapers are exactly what they sound like. Instead of the flat and shapeless diapers our parents may have used, fitted diapers are fitted and snug, usually with elastic gatherings in the legs and waist. This makes them a perfect fit for any baby. They usually have closures of some sort as well, either hook and loop (Velcro) or snaps.

Fitted diapers are not waterproof so you do need a diaper cover to put over them. But they are very easy to put on a baby and very easy to put under a cover without uncomfortable bunching. Some fitted diapers have also been known to contain a pocket for stuffing.

Thus far I've decided to start with pre-folds and pockets. My 8 month old Godson is going to be my trial. I'll be watching him for his parents while they work. Cloth unlike disposable diapers, being reusable on more than one child. Using Leland as my experimental baby will let me know which type is most convenient to work with, and if I find I don't like cloth, the resale value of the diapers is fantastic.

So far I've purchased:
4 Greenbee's Value Diaper AI'2
Normally $6 a Diaper, I got them for $4 a piece in her awesome Black Friday Sale. Currently there's a sale price of $5 a Diaper with Free Shipping

4 Econobum Prefold and Cover Diapers from Cottonbabies http://www.cottonbabies.com/index.php
Normally $9.95 per Cover with a single prefold. I caught a BOGO sale and got 4 for the price of 2

1 WAHM (Work at Home Mom) Sewn All in one from the Cuties With Cloth Booties Group on Cafemom
I paid $14 for this diaper, which is an awesome price for an All in One. Also, it had skulls on it. My one weakness.

They should arrive on or around Monday (12/5) and I can get started. I'm very excited. I love finding ways to be green and save green.

The Fetal War Continues

Update #3:
Operation Meatball Sub was completed without relatiation. I believe I caught my fetal nemesis in a sleep state. I managed to inhale all 6 inches of hot meatbally goodness and was moving on to the muffin when he awakened and realized an attack had been launched. He is currently attempting to preform some sort of 'yoga' in my uterus. My bladder is a brave soldier and is taking much damage. I shall reward her for her efforts. The fetal nemesis is becoming more difficult to track. He seems to move from side to side with no obvious pattern. I will continue to study his mode of operations. This war is far from over. Gestational host out.
